Musikmakarna is Sweden's first songwriting education founded in 1998 by Ulla Sjöström. Since its inception, the institution has delivered loads of sought-after songwriters, producers and artists to the music industry in Sweden and globally, as well as established wide networks all over the world. The combination of the unique environment at the High Coast, the close collaboration with the music industry, the cluster of a large number of like-minded creators and the access to studios 24/7 are some of the factors that create the conditions for our students' successes. Som student hos Musikmakarna får du en gedigen tvåårig utbildning inom hantverket Låtskrivande. Därtill får du genom skolan ett unikt nätverk av kontakter inom musikbranschen. Med obegränsad tillgång till egen studio får du tid till skapande och kreativitet för egen del eller tillsammans med några av alla andra hitmakare i huset. Hos Musikmakarna är alla projekt under utbildningen direkta uppdrag från musikbranschen i Sverige eller globalt. Allting på riktigt, alltså! Det ger dig ovärderliga förutsättningar att lyckas i ditt framtida yrkesliv som låtskrivare och musikskapare. Som student får du varva teoretiska kunskaper med praktiskt skapande. Här ingår bland annat upphovsrättsfrågor, entreprenörskap och företagande, artistprofilering, marknadsföring, kreativa uppdrag i låtskrivande, musikproduktion, komposition och ett antal spännande songwriting-camps. **Ansökningsperiod:** Ansökan för kursstart hösten 2026 öppnar öppnar 28 januari och stänger 28 mars. **Behörighetskrav:** Grundläggande behörighet för högskolestudier samt arbetsprov. Vad innebär behörighet? Läs mer på [Yrkeshögskolans hemsida](https://www.yrkeshogskolan.se/antagning-och-studier/ansokan-och-behorighet/). **Arbetsprover:** I ansökan skickar du in fem låtar du varit med och skapa, varav en du skrivit helt på egen hand, och en processbeskrivning (där du också förtydligar vad just du gjort på låten) till dessa. **Urval och antagning:** Om utbildningen har fler behöriga sökande än antalet platser genomförs ett urval. Från behöriga ansökningar väljer en jury om sex personer ett antal som anonymiseras och går vidare till en bred musikbranschjury som betygsätter ansökningarna. Det femtiotal av dessa som erhållit högst betyg av branschen går vidare i antagningsprocessen och blir kallade till en antagningsdag på plats i Örnsköldsvik. Under antagningsdagen i Örnsköldsvik träffar du andra sökande, får en rundtur på skolan, gör ett särskilt prov samt arbetsprov och deltar i ett personligt samtal med kursledare och personal. **Studieavgift:** Utbildningen är kostnadsfri och kan finansieras med studiemedel. Under perioderna av "Lärande i arbete" (LIA) samt studiebesök får du själv stå för dina egna utgifter som exempelvis boende och resor. Under årskurs 2 tillkommer vissa resekostnader i samband med obligatoriska moment i Örnsköldsvik.  Musikbranschen - Internationell och nationell terminologi Skrivande, Komposition och Produktion av populärmusik Musikmakarna har beviljats av Myndigheten för Yrkeshögskolan studerandeplatser inom YH-flex och ansökan görs genom samma portal som Musikmakarnas huvudansökan. Syftet är att inom yrkeshögskolan förbättra möjligheterna att genom tillgodoräknande och individuella studieupplägg effektivisera vägen till examen. YH Flex är ett nytt koncept som innebär en snabbare och mer flexibel väg till en YH-examen för personer som redan har yrkeskunskaper motsvarande en betydande del av en yrkeshögskoleutbildning. Detta är ett alternativ för dig som med flexibilitet behöver uppgradera din utbildning och kompetens, exempelvis för att nå vidare i ditt nuvarande arbete eller byta karriärspår. Flex medger möjlighet till studier på distans och flexibel studietakt med deltagande och CSN upp till maximalt 75% av ordinarie utbildning, beroende på förkunskaper. YH-flex genomförs i två delar – först en validering för tillgodoräknande och sedan komplettering med ett individuellt och flexibelt upplägg för att kunna nå examen. De studerande kommer inte att ha en egen hemstudio under utbildningen men erbjuds tillgång till delade studiostationer under den tid deras studier förläggs till skolan. Songwriters Academy of Sweden förmedlar 44 nyrenoverade studentlägenheter mitt i Örnsköldsvik, i Apotekshuset på Nygatan. Lägenheternas storlek är mellan 23 - 36 m2 och alla har eget badrum och köksdel. Lägenheterna är belägna på två våningar med stora trivsamma gemenskapsytor och tre tvättstugor. Wifi, värme, hushållsel och vatten ingår i hyran. As a response to the high demand from international songwriters and producers we created the Global Songwriters Program. The program consists of two courses - one during autumn and one during spring - and both courses span over three months each. It's optional to apply for both or just one of the courses. As an international student you will be working primarily with the international team but also alongside our Swedish students at Musikmakarna, Dreamhill Music Academy and Songwriting for an International Market. During the course you will be working with real leads from the global music industry, have the opportunity to show your work to music business representatives and get personal feedback and possible pitching opportunities. Musikmakarna has entered into a cooperation agreement with DSA where we help to assure the quality and stand as a guarantor that the students graduating from DSA have a correspondingly high level. We also share our extensive network and arrange some Songwriting Camps together. **Novia University of Applied Sciences** in Finland has established a cooperation agreement with Musikmakarna – the Songwriters Academy of Sweden. Together we have founded a Bachelor program for former Musikmakarna students as well as developed a brand new global Master in “Creative Music Production” based on equality and diversity, starting Fall 2023. Mutual Songwriting and educational projects are on-going and being planned. [**Visit Novia University of Applied Sciences to read more.**](https://www.novia.fi/en/) **Mellansels Folkhögskola**, situated close to Örnsköldsvik, educates musicians and singer-songwriters and performs certain projects in collaboration with Musikmakarna. **Sounds Like Sweden** is a collaboration between Musikmakarna and the creative outdoor hub FriluftsByn. During three days our students get to stay in the inspirational environment of FriluftsByn to create new music that is performed in front of a live audience during the final evening. **Interreg Aurora - Nordic Music Creators** is a project and network launched in 2024 to foster collaboration and innovation in the Nordic music industry. It connects music creators, entrepreneurs, and institutions, providing opportunities for networking, professional growth, and cross-border collaboration, with the aim of shaping a thriving creative community.
